Harold Varner III

A true ambassador of the game, Harold Varner III has established himself as a PGA TOUR stalwart, attaining his highest career ranking in 2021 and posting the first runner-up of his career with a T2 at the 2021 RBC Heritage. Born in Akron, Ohio but raised in North Carolina, he played his collegiate golf at East Carolina University and was the first player in school history to be named Conference USA player of the year. Harold turned pro in 2012 and made his PGA TOUR debut in 2016 with a solid rookie season winning the Australian PGA Championship.

In 2019 he created the HV3 Foundation which strives to create awareness of the rising cost of sport while providing opportunities for youth to overcome these challenges. In 2020 he emerged as a leading voice for equality and social justice on the PGA TOUR in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death. Most recently, he became the first national (US) ambassador for Youth on Course which advocates for providing affordable access to golf while creating a more inclusive and diverse future for the game. Through his partnership with RBC, Harold will serve as the ambassador to RBC’s new Community Junior Golf program which will bring Youth on Course and First Tee programing to municipal golf courses across Canada. This is his first year on Team RBC.
